I'd given up on pillows
I've bought four "orthopedic" pillows in two years and every one ended up in the guest room. Genuinely expected the same here. Third night in I noticed I wasn't doing the usual shoulder roll when I got up. Six weeks now and it's the only one I use.
Firm at first — stick with it
Honest heads up: the first three nights felt too firm and I nearly sent it back. My physio said that's normal when your neck is used to sinking into a flat pillow. By night five it clicked. Knocking off a star for the rough start, not for the pillow.
Side sleeper, finally
The cut-out wings are the whole thing for me. On a normal pillow my shoulder gets shoved up toward my ear all night. Here my arm tucks into the gap and my shoulder just sits where it should. That was the difference I felt first.
Faint smell day one, gone by day two
There was a slight new-foam smell out of the box. Left it by an open window for an afternoon and it was completely gone. Worth knowing so you don't panic. Everything else has been great, comfort-wise no complaints at all.
I run hot and this doesn't
My last memory foam pillow was like sleeping on a radiator — I flipped it four times a night chasing the cool side. This one has mesh panels and actual airflow. I've stopped flipping. That alone was worth it.
Cheaper than what I was doing before
Sounds like a lot for a pillow until you count it up. I was replacing a flat one every year and still waking up stiff. This cost me one bad pillow plus change and it hasn't lost its shape. The maths works out.
Took about a week for me
Not an overnight thing in my case. First few mornings felt no different and I was ready to write it off. Somewhere around day seven I realised I'd stopped noticing my neck in the morning, which is the point. Four stars because I'd have liked a slightly wider version.
Back sleeper, use the low side
Wasn't sure which way round to use it. Tried the higher side first and my chin tucked too far. Flipped to the lower loft and it's spot on for sleeping on my back. Would recommend trying both before you judge it.
Cover comes off easily
Checked this before buying because I've had covers that were basically welded on. Full zip, comes off in seconds, washed on a gentle cycle and went back on without a fight. Fits a standard pillowcase over the top too.
Arrives compressed, give it a day
Came vacuum packed and looked a bit sorry for itself out of the box. Took roughly 24 hours to fully expand into the proper shape. Would have been nice to have that on the packaging. Shipping itself was quick, two days.
Four months, same shape
Updating my earlier review. My worry was that it'd go soft and flat like every other foam pillow I've owned. Four months of nightly use and the contour is exactly as it was. No dip where my head goes.
